Nanna and Atkinson reteam for Certain People I Know
By now you should know Bob Nanna. He shared the stage with Chris Broach during the Braid days before forming Hey Mercedes in 2000 where he met drummer Damon Atkinson. Unfortuately the boys split in 2005.
Since the breakup, Nanna has been keeping quiet for the last few years instead focuses on pet projects like his solo project The City on Film and his work with Threadless.
Now it seems like those quiet days are over. Nanna and Atkinson have returned have formed a new band coined Certain People I Know. The band has thus far booked to shows in Illinois.
The first being a show Urbana at the Courtyard Cafe on February 13th with another schedule for February 19th at Chicago's Beat Kitchen playing alongside The Smoking Popes. Lets cross our fingers that some form of release is not far behind.
New video for Fleet Foxes 'Mykonos' online

While I must say I did not jump on the Fleet Foxes bandwagon last year, the new video they have released for the song Mykonos is pretty fantastic.
Whether your a fan or not, take the time to check out this unique stop-motion video.
John Vanderslice leaves Barsuk for Dead Oceans

Barsuk has been the home of every John Vanderslice record for the last 9 years. I suppose he needed a change. His latest opus entitled Romanian Names will hit the streets on May 19th this time around courtesy of Austin, Texas based Dead Oceans.
Can't wait that long to hear new music from JV? Fear not, the man will hit the road in March with The Mountain Goat's John Darnielle. For every show each musician will play solo performances and then collaborated on a joint set.
