Cleveland Film Festival reviews are Coming

In case you have been wondering about the lack of updates in the last few days, I can explain. Every March for the last 9 years I make it my goal to hit up a few flicks at the Cleveland International Film Festival. For the last three years, I have obtained Media Passes and have caught an unhealthy about of films (last year I viewed 18). This year I plan on bring you short but effective reviews of the films I have experience. It being day 5 already I have alot of catching up to do. Expect a handful of films in the next day or so.

Could the new Jeremy Enigk record bring the return of a more 'Sunny' sound?

If you were never a Sunny Day Real Estate fan, then it was by far your loss. I can honestly say Sunny Day Real Estate's LP2 (the self-titled second effort) is one of the best records of all time. Yep, I just went there.

While SDRE broke up and then got back together before breaking up again and then later reforming as the disappointing Fire Theft, lead man Jeremy Enigk has bounced in and out of solo records. Unfortunately, though none of them have reached the level of enjoyment of any of the SDRE albums. However, this time around things may change.

On May 12th, we all can greet a more rockin', at least it seems, third solo effort in the form of OK Bear. The first single 'Mind Idea' seems ripped straight from the pages of SDRE's third and most underrated record How It Feels to Be Something On. Don't believe me, then you be the judge by clicking here.

New creepy Chris Cunningham directed music video from upcoming Bloc Party remix album

Leave it up to madman Chris Cunningham to make a very Not-Safe-For-Work music video for Bloc Party's 'Signs' off last year's Intimacy. The track is actually a remix by Armand Van Helden from the band's upcoming Intimacy Remixed hitting UK record shelves on May 11th. Thus far Scottish gods Mogwai and experimental punkers No Age plan on contributing remixes. No word yet on when the US plans to release the album.
