Travis Bos of 'Zarathustra' and 'Chariots' tests the waters with 'Half-Speed Master'

If you know anything about modern hardcore music, you know the true masters of the art were the late great Refused. While no one has ever reached their level of sheer brilliance, one band that came damn close was Song of Zarathustra. With each release the band grew tighter and stronger finally hitting their peak with the astounding A View From High Tides. Unfortuately the 2002 release was to be their last.

Singer Travis Bos continued on his musical journey later forming the impressive Chariots releasing only one album, Congratulations, before breaking up in February of 2007. Since their demise, Bos has quietly been working on a new project entitled Half-Speed Master which dives into a more experimental territory ala something along the lines of Japan's Bordoms.

The ever so friendly Travis Bos, who also plays drums in his latest reincarnation, was kind enough to pass a few live recordings my way which I found very refreshing and a unique step in his ever expanding stellar career. Stay tuned to A Week at the Most for more news on the band as things begin to roll forward.

False Hopes and Dreams...Radiohead has NOT recorded new music for Palahniuk's 'Choke'

In a story which seemed to originate at BBC Radio's 6 Music, the word around the net is that Radiohead has teamed up with film director Clark Gregg to record exclusive music for the film adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's novel Choke. Not only will the closing credits feature a currently unannounced new Radiohead track, but the band has also worked on the film's score, which consists mostly of ambient music.

NONE OF THIS IS TRUE.

On the Radiohead front, no one was aware of this. Apparently the only involvement the band will have with the film is supplying the filmmakers with 'Reckoner' off of their latest In Rainbows for the closing credits of Choke.

Nonetheless Choke, which has played at numerous festivals over the past year, will officially open in New York and LA starting on September 26th.
