The newest edition to A Week at the Most...

...is none other than my good friend Rusty Blevins.

Please welcome him to the team (of 2) and please, please read his first post - a review of the new Belle & Sebastian.

The review is most brilliant I may add. Hope you enjoy!

Look Mexico 7 inch available for pre-order

Tallahassee, Florida's Look Mexico has alot going for them. For starters, their music can at times echo the work of Minus the Bear. The band also has a nice repertoire of releases for only being a band in existence for less than 5 years. This past September, the band released their fifth release an EP entitled Gasp Asp digitally through iTunes and the folks at Lujo Records.

Now the band is set to drop the same EP (minus track 'A Survivor's Code, My Code') on the beautiful format known as vinyl. The boys from Beartrap PR have created a new kick ass record label called Tiny Engines and will make Look Mexico's Gasp Asp their debut release.

As with all cool record labels, Tiny Engines will print a total of 1000 pressings in various degrees of color:

200 on light-blue vinyl/matte-finish artwork stamped w/ ltd. edition silver foil
200 on white vinyl/matte-finish artwork stamped w/ ltd. edition red foil
600 on green vinyl/matte-finish artwork (no foil)

So really, what are you waiting for? Order this bitch, now.

Don't believe me? Just simply take a listen to the Gasp Asp track 'You're Not Afraid of the Dark Are You' and find out for yourself what you are missing.

Klahn (ex-Texas is the Reason), Loobkoff (Samiam), Herguth (House & Parish) bring you 'Atlantic/Pacific'

Back in the mid '90s there was a highly influentual band of indie rock a few of you may have heard of. There name was Texas is the Reason. Since their break up just three short years after their creation singer Garrett Klahn moved on. He formed New Rising Sons then Solea never really reaching the height of his most popular previous endeavor. At the moment he is currently bring New Rising Sons back from the dead.

Sergie Loobkoff also has a bit of a past in the scene. First drawing crowds with Samiam he later joined up as guitarist of one of my personal favorites, Knapsack. Later he jammed with Klahn as a member of Solea.

John Herguth you might remember as the singer for House & Parish the latest project from members of Promise Ring and Texas is the Reason. There you have it - everything comes full circle.

Now allow me to introduce Atlantic/Pacific featuring Garrett Klahn (on vox/guitar), John Herguth(vox/guitar), and Sergie Loobkoff (electric guitar). The new project is a departure from what most have heard from the trio. Mellow, acoustic, and very sastifying. Put your ears at ease now and take a listen to what they have to offer.

If you are in Europe this December you can even catch the band on their first tour:

12/05/2008 Wiesbaden (GER) - Schlachthof
12/06/2008 Cologne (GER) - Werkstatt (Visions Party)
12/07/2008 Munster (GER) - Gleis 22
12/08/2008 Rotterdamm (NL) - Waterfront
12/09/2008 Hamburg (GER) - Headcrash
12/11/2008 Berlin (GER) - Magnet
12/13/2008 Prague (CZ) - Chateau Rouge
12/14/2008 Munchen (GER) - Ampere
12/15/2008 Vienna (A) - Arena
