Superchunk's latest Majesty Shredding coming this fall

Who says indie rock is dead?

Arguably one of the best of the genre, Superchunk, is hoping to launch their ninth record to the masses sometime in the fall.

Drummer Jon Wurster informed Stereogum that Majesty Shredding will be more to the liking of the older records than the more recent releases.

Sounds find to me. While Here's to Shutting Up and the EPs that followed were by no means a bad, the uber fan inside has been wanting to here something more attune to classics like On the Mouth and Foolish for quite sometime now.

Color me excited, nonetheless.

Bloc Party vocalist to release solo in June

Kele Okereke, the frontman for UK's Bloc Party, is set to bust out on his own with his first solo record.

The Boxer
will hit stores on June 21 in the UK and  June 22 on US shores.

Glassnote Records will distribute the record in the states, the same label which helped Phoenix reach an American audience.

The first single, Tenderoni, which sounds like a very stripped down Bloc Party track, can now be heard here.

Kele has also booked a handful of US dates:
  1. Walk Tall
  2. On The Lam
  3. Tenderoni
  4. The Other Side
  5. Everything You Wanted
  6. New Rules
  7. Unholy Thoughts
  8. Rise
  9. All The Things I Could Never Say
  10. Yesterday's Gone
